FIDE 100 YEARS OF CHESS!
Drogheda chess club is taking part in a World Record attempt on Saturday, July 20th in Scotch Hall Shopping Centre. The event, promoted by FIDE, (the world chess federation) is a global quest to set the Guinness World Record for the most games played in 24 hours.
Our event runs Saturday 20th July from 10am to 5pm in the former Next unit in Scotch Hall, and will cater for players of all levels. These are fun events, not rated, but currently the only Irish leg of a global event. We need players and volunteers on the day, so if you can spare some time why not join us, play a few games, or just watch, and be a part of chess history.
